Virtual NJSIA General Membership Meeting

March 19, 2021

Start Time:  9:30AM

Rimkus Consulting Group will be presenting.

Michelle Price (Vehicle Accident Reconstruction Expert):

“Vehicle Theft vs Fraud”

Vehicle Theft vs. Fraud is a presentation designed to assist participants in determining if vehicle damage claimed after recovery is consistent with a theft scenario.  This course covers vehicle theft methods consistent with various vehicle types. It also examines how manufacturer’s ignition systems and technologies are possibly defeated to allow vehicles to drive away.  Ultimately, this course provides participants with information needed to understand elements and conditions consistent with actual thefts vs. fraudulent claims.

Lee Waite (Biomechanical Engineer):

“Human Biomechanics In Low Speed Vehicle Collisions”

Human Biomechanics in Low-Speed Collisions is a presentation designed to help participants understand the dynamics of the human body and the associated injury potential in low-speed automotive accidents. Human anatomy, with a focus on the skeletal system, spinal column, and location of landmarks, will be discussed so that personal injury allegations may be more clearly understood. Participants will be introduced to the body dynamics and injury potential involved in several types of vehicle impacts. The seminar also covers commonly claimed injuries, such as strains and sprains, bulging discs, intervertebral disc herniation, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and more.

Andrew Stanton (Civil / Structural Engineer):

Identifying Man-made “Wind” Damage"

Identifying Man-made "Wind Damage" will give an overview of property damage evaluations due to high winds and provide some helpful “lessons learned”.   Upon completion of this course, attendees should have a basic understanding of typical damage to buildings as a result of strong wind events and possible steps that can be taken to help reduce the risks associated with wind damage.
